- Uncontrolled bleeding plays an important role not only in mortality but also in the development of morbidity (Achenos EM et al 2005).
- Direct compression and standard gauze application are often inadequate in the control of bleeding. (LifeChit) Haemostatic agents are alternative for compression methods and extremity tourniquets. (Wedmore et al 2006)
